ENERGY SAVINGS
The additional costs for the new, 12,000 square foot, WEEBF office building to reach LEED certification was less than $4 per square foot ! With operating costs taken into consideration, the $2.50 per square foot (2 percent) for equipment upgrades that WEEBF invested up front will pay for itself in less than 5 years under traditional payback calculations. Annual energy savings are 30 percent or $5,200 a year.

The natural gas-fired furnaces are sealed combustion and heat at over 90% efficiency. The associated air conditioning systems cool with an energy efficiency ratio (EER) of 11.25, 18% more efficient than standard cooling units.
